This charming suite at The Wen Inn, also known as the ‘Aspen Suite’, sleeps up to 2 people in a queen-size bed. The private ensuite bathroom features a large whirlpool tub with all bath essentials provided. The suite shares an entryway with the adjacent suite, making it perfect for larger groups wanting to stay close together while having separate rooms. Located on the main floor, this suite does not require stairs to access.

  • Constructed over a century ago, the Wen Inn holds a unique charm that is perfectly molded within its extended history. Retaining original antiques and furnishings from the 1900s, you will be transported into another time without sacrificing your 21st-century comforts. With modern amenities and updated fixtures, our guests’ comfort remains our priority. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

    Root River State Bike Trail: Famous for a flat, shady & scenic route along the limestone bluffs with views of abundant wildlife.

    Root River: The gently-flowing river is perfect for kayaking, tubing, and fishing. 

    Driftless Trading Post's Canoe, Tube & Kayak Rentals: Your first stop to enjoy a fun day on the water!

    Peterson Station Museum and Visitor Center: Historic memorabilia and info about the Southern Minnesota Railroad.

    The area's appeal doesn’t end with Peterson’s solitude or seasonal beauty; there’s also a variety of dining options nearby we urge you to try out! From homemade pies to locally sourced farm-to-table meals, there is plenty to choose from. Here are some favorites:

    ✓  Burdey's Cafe: A cozy, welcoming spot in Peterson with homemade pies and American breakfast. Open year-round, closed on Sundays in the winter, only a block away!

    ✓  The Creamery in Rushford: Sandwiches & burgers or Indulge in sweet treats and desserts (Rushford)

    ✓  Shawnee's Bar & Grill: Located along the Root River Trail with a biker-friendly atmosphere (Rushford)

    ✓  Juniper's Restaurant: The best American and seafood dishes (Lanesboro)

    ✓  Pedal Pushers Cafe: Some of the best burgers and root beer in the area - you must try! (Lanesboro)

    ✓  Aroma Pie Shoppe: Famous for delicious pies made from scratch located right on the Root River Trail in nearby Whalan. Open seasonally from May - October.

  • No smoking of any kind is permitted in the Inn or on the deck. Please go across to the gazebo or out back past the garage near the trail. 

     

    No pets are allowed, though Doggy Daycare is only four miles from the Inn. 

  • You’ll enjoy exclusive access to your room, ensuring a private and comfortable stay. You will also have access to the shared public and outdoor spaces, such as the main outdoor deck, dining area, sun room, kitchen space, and more.
